I've been taking Vital Proteins collagen peptides (two scoops, ~20g/day) for 5 months alongside my Ozempic and here's my honest assessment:
- My nails are noticeably stronger and grow faster. This started around week 6.
- My hair, which was thinning badly from the weight loss, seems to have stabilized. Could be coincidence, could be the biotin I also started, who knows.
- Skin on my face: marginal improvement. I still look older than I did at my heaviest, which is an uncomfortable truth about weight loss nobody warns you about.
- Skin on my abdomen/arms: no visible change. Still loose. Still not cute in a tank top.
Is it worth $35/month? For the nail and hair benefits alone, I think so. For skin elasticity? Manage your expectations heavily.
The easiest way to take it: dissolve in your morning coffee. Vital Proteins unflavored is truly tasteless in hot liquid.
