I've literally tried every protein powder on the market over the past year and here's my definitive GLP-1-compatible tier list:

S-Tier: Dymatize ISO100 Fruity Pebbles (yes the flavor is real and yes it's incredible), Transparent Labs 100% Grass-Fed Whey Isolate

A-Tier: Ghost Whey (Chips Ahoy flavor, fight me), Isopure Zero Carb Unflavored (for cooking)

B-Tier: Orgain Plant (solid but less protein per scoop), PEScience Select (whey/casein blend — risky on GLP-1)

C-Tier: ON Gold Standard (the bloat queen), BSN Syntha-6 (way too heavy)

F-Tier: Any mass gainer. If someone on GLP-1 buys a mass gainer I'm staging an intervention.

Also protip: Fairlife Core Power shakes (42g protein, ready-to-drink) are a LIFESAVER when you can't be bothered to mix anything. Zero lactose. I keep a case in my office.

Just want to chime in from a gut health perspective. If you're switching proteins and STILL having GI issues, consider that the sweetener might be the culprit, not the protein source.

Most protein powders use sucralose or acesulfame-K. On GLP-1 meds, your gut microbiome is changing (there's emerging research on this) and artificial sweeteners can exacerbate bloating in people with altered gut motility.

Try stevia-sweetened or naturally sweetened options. Nuzest Clean Lean Protein is sweetened with thaumatin (a natural sweetener) and I've had zero GI complaints on it. 25g protein from golden pea isolate.

Also — everyone should be taking a probiotic alongside GLP-1 meds imo. My gastro recommended Visbiome and it made a massive difference in my protein shake tolerance.

Okay you guys have given me SO much to work with. I think my plan is:

  1. Order Dymatize ISO100 (trying the Fruity Pebbles because has me curious)
  2. Pick up some Orgain as a backup plant option
  3. Grab a case of Fairlife Core Power for lazy days
  4. Look into the sweetener angle mentioned above

Will report back with a taste test and bloat report in two weeks. My coworkers will thank you all if this fixes the gas situation.

Great plan NurseLeah_Nash. One last tip — when switching proteins, don't go cold turkey. Mix half old / half new for the first few days. Your gut on GLP-1 does NOT like sudden changes.

And's mention of Fairlife Core Power is spot-on. For any GLP-1 user who can't do shakes: those 42g protein bottles are legitimately one of the best products on the market for us. The Elite version has 42g protein in 230 calories. That's an insane protein-to-calorie ratio.
