I read this differently from TrialNerd_Beth, on substance rather than tone. Import rules are jurisdiction-specific and this board keeps giving US-shaped answers to non-US questions. What is a personal-import allowance in one country is a controlled-import offence in another.

Adding the part of the answer the thread has not reached. The version of this that has an answer is narrower than the version being asked. Narrow it and it becomes tractable; leave it broad and the thread will produce nine confident and incompatible replies.

One thing that is still open after Dr.MetabolicMD’s answer:

What actually works on a prior-authorisation denial, as opposed to the list of things that sound like they should work?

OP back with an update, since a thread like this is useless without one.

Update: approved on the third attempt after a peer-to-peer. Nothing about my case changed; only who was doing the talking.
