A narrower follow-up, since the general answer is now clear:

What the dose-response curve actually looks like above 1.7mg, because the trial means hide how few people account for the extra loss?

Pushing back on jim_asheville here. Pushing back on the consensus forming here. Consistency is not the same as correctness, and a board that agrees with itself quickly is usually agreeing with the first person who sounded certain.

Worth separating that from semaglutide, which this thread keeps folding into the same question. They behave differently and the advice does not transfer.

Right, and the exception is worth naming rather than left implied, because the exception is where people get into trouble.

Adding the clinical framing, because it changes how the question reads. It helps to ask what evidence would change your mind before you look at any. If nothing would, the discussion is not about evidence, and it is better to say so early than to spend nine posts discovering it.
