Reconstitution tip for anyone mixing dosing arithmetic from lyophilized powder: use bacteriostatic water, NOT sterile water.

Peptide calculator app recommendation for dosing arithmetic: I use DoseRight to calculate reconstitution volumes and injection doses. Eliminates math errors completely.

Input: vial size (mg), desired concentration (mg/mL), prescribed dose (mg)
Output: BAC water volume (mL), injection volume (units on insulin syringe)

A math error with injectable medication can mean underdosing or overdosing. Use a calculator every time until the math becomes second nature.

Agreed, and it is worth saying that rounding to the nearest whole unit is usually acceptable at maintenance doses and is not acceptable at the bottom…

Bookmarking. The distinction being drawn above is the one nobody else makes. Sending this to two other people who asked me the same thing last week.

Bacteriostatic water quality matters for dosing arithmetic reconstitution. Not all BAC water is created equal:

  • Should contain 0.9% benzyl alcohol as preservative
  • Must be sterile and pyrogen-free
  • Should come in a sealed, intact vial
  • Check expiration date — yes, BAC water expires
  • Store at room temperature, protected from light

I buy from a reputable medical supply company, not Amazon marketplace sellers. The $3 savings isn't worth the infection risk from unverified BAC water.

Ongoing cost tracking for dosing arithmetic — transparency for the community:

Monthly medication cost: $122
Supplies (syringes, BAC water, alcohol swabs): ~$10/month
Janoshik testing: ~$12/month (amortized quarterly)
Lab work: ~$52/month (amortized quarterly)
Total: ~$212/month

Compare to brand Wegovy at $1212/month without insurance. Compounded is roughly 85% cheaper for what I have found to be clinically equivalent medication.

Moderator note: leaving this open. It is being argued well and the disagreement is the useful part. Carry on.
