Training does two things here and only one of them is on the scale.

Exercise-induced nausea amplification with training: I learned the hard way that intense exercise within 12 hours of injection can make nausea much worse. The combination of delayed gastric emptying + exercise-induced blood flow redistribution is rough on the GI system.

My workaround: inject Friday evening, do low-intensity activity Saturday, and save my intense workouts for Tuesday-Thursday when the GI effects have subsided. Timing your training around your injection schedule is a real optimization strategy.

Following on from Dr.RenalNash — and this may be the naive question:

How would you tell the difference between that and the alternative explanation?

Coming at raj_cambridge’s question from a different direction. If two explanations both fit, the useful question is which one predicts something the other does not. That is answerable; arguing about which sounds more plausible is not.

Reporting back.

Resolved, and the thing that resolved it was the least interesting suggestion in the thread. Writing that down for the next person who wants the interesting answer.

sarah_TO has the substance of this right. The condition it depends on is worth stating. Yes, and the corollary is less popular: if the reasoning holds, it also holds where it produces an answer we do not like.
