Joining late! Week 1: 15,341 daily average. I know that seems high but I'm a ward nurse so I rack up steps just doing my job — we tracked it once and I walk about 6 miles per 12-hour shift. Plus I've been doing a 30-minute walk before my shifts to clear my head. On semaglutide 0.5mg, 6 weeks in. Down 14 lbs already. The step counting has become a bit addictive not gonna lie.

Week 1: 8,206 daily average. Modest but I'm 67 years old and on tirzepatide for both T2D and weight management. Six months ago I was barely managing 3,000 steps due to knee pain. The weight loss (38 lbs so far) has reduced the joint pain enormously and now I'm walking with my wife every morning for 40 minutes around the park. She's not on medication but she's lost 7 lbs just from the daily walks. Unexpected benefit!

15K is amazing but also proof that you don't need fancy workout programmes to be active. Walking IS exercise. My pet peeve is gym bros who say walking doesn't count as a workout. Walking for 60+ minutes is literally the most recommended form of exercise by the WHO and it's the easiest thing to maintain long-term. Week 2 (March 8-14): 14,856 daily average. New personal best! Saturday I hit 22,400 steps — did a charity walk with my daughter, 10 miles along the coastal path. Legs were jelly but worth it.

Over 10K average! Genuinely buzzing. Made a conscious effort this week — bought a walking pad for under my standing desk (£120 from Amazon, best purchase I've made all year). I do about 3,000-4,000 steps during work hours now without even thinking about it. Then an evening walk gets me to 12K+. On good appetite days I even do a morning walk. This challenge has completely changed my daily habits. Also down another 2.8 lbs this week which I'm attributing partly to the increased activity.
