If you are comparing against somebody else’s result, check that you are comparing the same measurement taken the same way.

Pushing back on Dr.PulmRoch here. Filing an objection on the n=1 problem. Personal experience is genuine evidence about one person and very weak evidence about anybody else, and this thread keeps promoting the first into the second.

Correct, and worth adding that it is reversible. Nothing being described here is a one-way door, which changes how cautious it is reasonable to be.

This is exactly what I could not find anywhere else. Printing the relevant bit and taking it with me.

Clinical perspective, offered as context rather than as advice. It helps to say which part of this you are uncertain about. A precise question gets a precise answer; a general one gets everybody’s favourite anecdote.

Happy to go further on any of that.

Closing the loop on my own question.

Update since I posted: I held at 1.7mg for a further twelve weeks and lost another 4kg slowly, which settles it for me. I was escalating because the number was available, not because I had stopped responding.
